Description
The London Borough of Hackney Children and Family Services has reviewed and redesigned its supported accommodation pathway for looked after children, care leavers and single homeless young people aged 16-21 to meet the changing needs of young people. 4 individual contracts have been awarded to suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver support accommodation services for the borough's young people. The successful providers will be expected to be flexible and responsive to a diverse client base ensuring that the young people are at the heart of the service. The pathway consists of: • Lot 2: Progression - A specialist service for 16–17-year-olds • Lot 3: Progress Services 18+ • Lot 5: Move On.
Lot Division
2 | Progression-A specialist service for 16-17 year olds The service will provide supported accommodation to young people who are looked after and aged 16-17. Not all young people would have been through the assessment stage. Young people who are known to Hackney Children and Families service will be referred to this part of the pathway as there would already be an understanding of their needs and care history. |
3 | Progression 18+ The service will provide supported accommodation to young people who are looked after, care leavers and single homeless young people aged 17.5-21. Young people living in this stage would mostly be over 18, however service providers will accept young people aged 17.5 to minimise the number of moves a young person experiences. |
5 | Move on The service will provide supported accommodation to young people who are Care Leavers aged 18-21. |
