Queen’s Biological Services Unit wishes to procure the supply and delivery of animal models, and their specialised diet.
Animal models are required for biomedical in vivo research at the university.
Research involving animals has, and continues to make, a vital contribution to improving human and animal health.
It has been an important part of enhancing the understanding, treatment and cure of cancer, cardiovascular disease, blindness, neurodegenerative and infectious diseases.
The specialised diet is required to ensure that the animals receive all the nutrients that they require for their normal behaviour, health status and stage of life.Queen’s University Belfast is a Signatory to the Concordat on Openness on Animal Research in the UK and in doing so wishes to be transparent as to how and when we use animals in experimental research.
