Description
The London Borough of Merton (“the Council”) is inviting tenders to provide Lot 1: Carers Services of Adult Carers or Adults and/or Lot 2: Young Carers Service. The London Borough of Merton is inviting tenders from Providers with relevant skills and experience to provide Carers Services. Merton Council intends to commission services for adult carers of adults and young carers in Merton and will adopt the key principles and learning from the Merton Carers Strategy and 'Merton Building a Better Merton Together' Plan. Adult Social Care and Childrens departments are proposing to align their commissioning and procurement approach and will follow the same timeline to commence services for Carers in April 2024. It is proposed that there will be 2 lots, which will result in 2 specifications and 2 contracts. Lot 1: Carers Services of Adult Carers or Adults and/or Lot 2: Young Carers Service.
Lot Division
1 | For Lot 1 the Council seeks a provider who has an in-depth understanding of local needs and will be able to demonstrate an effective approach to building trusting relationships with carers so that they actively engage in support. Having in place carers services will help the council to manage the demand of people needing statutory care and support. The service provider will need to acknowledge the physical and emotional strain of caring and support carers to continue in their caring role and achieve the outcomes that they desire. |
2 | For Lot 2 the Council seeks a provider that will support delivery on Merton's commitment that all our younger residents will live well and thrive in Merton. The provider will need to ensure that young carers are identified at the earliest opportunity and to support them to remain as physically and emotionally well as possible and to start or maintain employment, volunteering, training and learning. The provider will also need to ensure that young carers are supported to have a family, community, and social life alongside their caring role |
