Legal Justification
Additional deliveries by the original supplier This work is a continuation of the study undertaken by Growbotics Space Ltd in March 2023 aimed at developing an In Orbit Servicing and Manufacturing(IOSM) roadmap. Growbotics Space Ltd, as a lead member of the UKSA/Community space partnership, have acted as independent consultants to that work and is uniquely positioned to deliver the next phase of the study due to the specialised nature of the task and the work completed so far, and the access requirements needed to complete it successfully. The following up work specification requires a supplier to have deep knowledge of both the sector and the sector strategy, specifically the new IOSM capabilities and industrial plan recently endorsed by space council and DSIT. The work completed to date was done by Growbotics Space Ltd both for the earlier key technology identification and the UKSA and space partnership roadmapping. If another supplier were to be used other than Growbotics Space Ltd, understanding the methodology used, decision framework combined with a deep technical understanding of the sector would result in having to completely rework the earlier study, which will result in disproportionate time and resource on top of this study cost. Therefore Growbotics Space Limited is the only credible supplier to deliver this work.
