Description

NHS Shared Business Services Limited (NHS SBS) act in an Agency capacity for and on behalf of its customers (Approved Organisations) - existing and new. These comprise of NHS and Social Care organisations (whether acting individually, or on behalf of, or together as members of any consortia) along with any other public or private sector bodies which NHS SBS authorises to use the resulting Framework. NHS SBS intends to put in place a Framework Agreement under the Procurement Act 2023 for the provision of IoT and Smart Connected Healthcare Environments and related Goods and Services for Healthcare and wider public sector to be used by NHS SBS Approved Organisations. Our Approved Organisation list can be found on: https://sbs.nhs.uk/proc-framework-agreements-support We are committed to working with suppliers who are dedicated to Sustainability and Social Value and there will be a significant weighting on these elements in the tender.

Lot Division

1 Smart Technology Products including Maintenance, Monitoring, and Management

Delivery of a compliant route to market for IoT and smart technology products and services that will support the NHS and the wider public sector organisations in their attempt to adopt smart technology and solutions. The technology helps with a myriad of problems - from asset tracking, waste, water, air quality and energy monitoring and management, efficient usage of buildings and workspaces, telematics, smart theatres, smart street lighting, real time visibility of medical devices, home monitoring based solutions, traffic insights and signals, CCTV, cameras, IoT sensors, and crime prevention. Procurement of smart connected (IoT) Hardware such as but not limited to Sensors, actuators and other related devices for data gathering that can be used in healthcare environments as well as other settings. The requirement could also include ongoing maintenance, monitoring and management of systems, software and devices. Lot 1 might be suitable for suppliers who provide hardware for equipment related to smart connected environments.

2 IoT Data Analytics Software and Platforms

Delivery of a compliant route to market for IoT and smart technology products and services that will support the NHS and the wider public sector organisations in their attempt to adopt smart technology and solutions, but for more focused areas regarding data management, analysis platforms and systems. Purchase of specialist software that will incorporate central data collection and integration, analytics, reporting and advanced visualisation, and exploration of data into actionable insights. Possible example of enabling clients to create a digital twin of the physical environment with the data generated. Lot 2 might be suitable for suppliers with: Data analytics, platform building or interconnectivity service speciality that directly contributes to the operation of Smart Technology. There are multiple types IoT platforms i.e. connectivity, Device Management, Application Enablement, Analytics etc.

3 End-To-End Smart Technology (IoT) Solutions

Delivery of a compliant route to market for IoT and smart technology products and services that will support the NHS and the wider public sector organisations in their attempt to adopt smart technology and solutions, but for more focused areas regarding end-to-end smart technology (IoT) solutions. Lot 3 is more suitable for suppliers who can provide: • A combination of services from Lots 1 & 2 providing sensor-based technology as well as software as a package. • Smart technology Solutions and IoT as a managed service could also be provided under this proposed lot.

4 IoT & Smart Technology Consultancy and Advisory Services

Delivery of a compliant route to market for IoT and smart technology products and services that will support the NHS and the wider public sector organisations in their attempt to adapt smart technology and solutions, but for more focused areas regarding Smart technology consultancy services. Lot 4 is suitable for suppliers who can provide: • Consultancy related to IoT and Smart Connected Environments services not limited to, Solution proposal, programme development, and implementation, provision of a strategic direction and development of change management program. • Advise on the design, deployment and operation of technical solutions.

This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to signal an intention to commence market engagement with suppliers within the market for IoT and Smart connected Healthcare Environments. NHS Shared Business Services Limited (NHS SBS) reserves the right to withdraw this notice at any time. NHS SBS is not bound to accept any proposals submitted by Bidders and is not liable for any costs incurred as a result of Bidders engaging with this process. This early market engagement exercise does not guarantee that a Procurement will take place and NHS SBS reserves the right to defer from any Procurement entirely. NHS SBS intends to hold market engagement sessions during September - December 2024 with industry experts and suppliers interested in potentially bidding for the resulting Framework Agreement. NHS SBS will use an eSourcing system for any procurement activity taken subsequent to this PIN. The eSourcing system we will use is SAP Ariba. Please note that, to register, you must have a valid DUNS number (as provided by Dun and Bradstreet) for the organisation which you are registering, who will be entering into a Framework Agreement if invited to do so.
