Total Quantity or Scope
The Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee intends to launch the Queen Elizabeth II National Memorial Masterplan Design Competition. The late Queen, who reigned for 70 years, was an exemplary monarch and inspiration for the United Kingdom, the Realms, and the Commonwealth. To reflect this, a permanent memorial will be erected in St James’s Park London. The site will include the area of St James’s Park adjacent to the Mall at Marlborough Gate, and land surrounding the pathway down to the lake, including the Blue Bridge. The site is close to the ceremonial route of The Mall, Buckingham Palace, the Commonwealth Headquarters, statues of her parents and other monarchs. The aim is to create a landmark memorial that celebrates and honours Queen Elizabeth II and which is of outstanding aesthetic quality and of its time. The Cabinet Office wishes to appoint an exceptionally dedicated and inspired multidisciplinary creative team to deliver this vision.
