Description

Coventry City Councils Work-Related Learning Service (WRL) has supported the use of Vocational training courses, bespoke courses, and personalised packages of education for Coventry's schools in enabling Coventry's young people to access the education that they require. Based on existing service intelligence it has become increasingly apparent, that there is a need to develop the service provision further. The proposal is to deliver one central DPS and improve on the existing service offer and focus on increasing vocational courses, Social Development, Transition Courses, Core Curriculum, and Specialist Provisions.

Lot Division

1 Vocational Courses - Price Band 1

The Local Authority will create a "pseudo Dynamic Purchasing System" under the Light Touch Regime (based on CCS guidance) and have set out clearly how we intend to operate the DPS from the outset through the OJEU notice and DPS Application documentation. This meets the duty of transparency and equal treatment, which are the main guidelines to follow when setting up an LTR agreement. Lot 1 - Vocational Courses - Designed for students of all abilities, with an inclusive approach. The aim of the Vocational courses is for students to work towards and achieve accreditation, increase their skills, and enable them to adapt to a working environment. Band 1 covers all courses which fall between £2000 - £2500 per course* to deliver. *Calculated on 38 days service delivery - 1 student, 1 day per week, for 1 academic year - 38 Weeks.

This meets the duty of transparency and equal treatment, which are the main guidelines to follow when setting up an LTR agreement. Lot 3 - Social Development - To support students who are facing social barriers, which in turn are affecting academic learning and lifestyles. Courses will be designed to support young people in finding mechanisms to combat barriers faced and support with choosing a positive healthy lifestyle.

4 Transition Courses

The Local Authority will create a "pseudo Dynamic Purchasing System" under the Light Touch Regime (based on CCS guidance) and have set out clearly how we intend to operate the DPS from the outset through the OJEU notice and DPS Application. This meets the duty of transparency and equal treatment, which are the main guidelines to follow when setting up an LTR agreement. Lot 4 - Transition Courses - Designed to implement strategies and support systems to ensure a smooth transition between educational milestones. These programs are designed to make the transition from primary to secondary school and secondary school to employment or further training. The course will identify any needs specific to the learner.

This process designs the provision around demand, working towards identified desired outcomes. This Lot will allow for a Mini Competition exercise at the point of referral.
