Description

Restaurant, hospitality and vending machine services to be provided to Trust staff, patients and visitors, at Roseberry Park Hospital in Middlesbrough, an NHS hospital specialising in mental health and children's learning disabilities services. The Trust has selected a service provider to provide restaurant and hospitality services from 1 April 2021. The restaurant service will operate from a Trust café-style facility, as a minimum during certain core hours. The hospitality service will be provided, as required by the Trust. A stocked vending service is required to be made available at all times. Patient catering is not within the scope of the contract.

The stated estimated value of the contract was based on: - estimated turnover for the first 48 months, and - forecasts made prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was not, therefore to be treated as reflective of the then current circumstances and economic operators were expected to undertake their own due diligence with regard to value. The service is subsidised. The procurement was conducted using the restricted procedure.

Renewal Options

The contract term is five years from 1 April 2021, with an option for extension by the Trust for up to two periods of one year each. If the Trust wishes to exercise its right to extend, it must give the Service Provider at least three months' written notice of such intention before the expiry of the initial term or extension period (as applicable).
