Nottingham University Hospitals NUH Trust (NUH) is undertaking a soft market test exercise ("soft market test") to identify potential suppliers in a position to provide the Trust with a dedicated Ophthalmology Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and Imaging Solution.

Total Quantity or Scope

Suppliers interested in working with the NUH team must be able to demonstrate system compliance with the following essential criteria;Ophthalmology EPR specialty specific key requirements:  Offer a digital record of patient information, accessible in real time. Flowing information between sub speciality areas, meaning information is only recorded once and allowing the Trust to track patients through their journey to ensure no patient is ever lost between systems. A system with the capability to meet the specialist needs of an acute Ophthalmology service. In this capacity the system must have the ability to configure its activities and reporting to the specific needs of the ophthalmic sub specialities i.e. Cataract, Glaucoma. Medical Retina, Visual Acuity etc.  Have drawing functionality to create diagrammatic representations of the eye appearance Have the capability to store visual images specific to ophthalmic eye care.  Be interoperable with a range of ophthalmic devices and software, i.e. IOL Biometry, Visual Fields, Fundus Camera, and OCT. To be interoperable with the National Diabetic eye Screening Programme software OptoMize.  To be compatible with the planned national roll out of the eye Electronic Referral System (eERS).  Support the collection and reporting of the appropriate data sets as required by the National Ophthalmology Database (NOD) audit.  Provide service management support to system users, including a critical incidence response. Trust requirements: In addition to these speciality specific requirements the system must support the following Trust requirements:  Accredited to ISO 901-2015, compliant with DCB0129 (NHS clinical risk standard) or similar Administrative functionality to manage all correspondence with patients and other stakeholders and colleagues, including interoperability with primary care records to support ‘e-postable’ communications with GP colleagues.  Support electronic prescribing  Be compatible with the Trust’s Patient Adminstration System (PAS) system and other Core Trust systems The ability to provide business intelligence to support the trusts operational and strategic planning functions. Be compliance with the Trusts (NHS) standards in regard to Information Governance and cyber security.  Be in a position to meet the anticipated NHSX Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC).  End of contract, data migration, ensuring the Trust has access to all legacy data at no additional cost at the end of the contract term. Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will be hosting a supplier event consisting of a presentation and demonstration on Friday1st October 2021This will be an informal event and is intended as a way to engage with the market to further inform our understanding of the current innovation and functionality.We would like suppliers to register their interest in attending the event by supplying the following information:— Company name,— Brief overview of the company in no more than 500 words,— Indication of what your company can offer to meet the scope.By email only with subject title ‘Ophthalmology Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and imaging solution to: michael.pattison@nuh.nhs.uk
