Description
TRITON aims to deliver a modular, scalable and configurable bridging and ferrying system to enable Military Load Classification 100 (Tracked) and MLC 130 (Wheeled) crossing of wet gaps over 40m.TRITON is an Equipment delivery project under the Next Generation Wide Wet Gap Crossing (NG WWGC) Programme led by Army Headquarters (AHQ), under Manoeuvre Support. It fulfils a NATO commitment to provide a WWGC capability and will be operated by the Royal Engineers as part of a Multi-National Bridging Battalion based in Minden, DEU. Project TRITON will build upon the high level of interoperability enjoyed now, at the DEU / UK Amphibious Engineer Battalion (Amph Engr Bn) in Minden with M3 Amphibious Rigs. In support of the drive for commonality and interoperability for the WWGCC beyond 2027, Project TRITON has coordinated its efforts to date on a joint basis with Germany (DEU). DEU and UK have broadly aligned timelines to replace their current WWGCC. The history of collaboration and interoperability between the nations has also led to significant alignment of their requirements. The Authority now has approval to work bi-laterally with DEU to procure an amphibious WWGCC. It is the Authority’s expectation to place a Contract through a Delivery Agent on behalf of DEU and UK Authorities. Please note information regarding an Industry Event in the 'Additional Information' section of this PIN.
