Description

QED Naval is inviting tenders to an exciting opportunity to be a strategic partner in the high value supply chain to design, manufacture and deploy QED’s next generation tidal technology at Industrial scale as a penultimate step to demonstrate the cost reduction potential and performance of their ‘Subhub’ tidal platform and Tocardo turbines. This partnership is key to unlocking the potential of a rapidly growing global $76Bn market and making a significant contribution to net zero carbon targets.

1 Design, manufacture and deliver 1 off Industrial Scale Subhub unit with modular buoyancy
  • Value: £2M

QED Naval is seeking a guaranteed maximum price for the delivery of an Industrial Scale Subhub based on 150t steelwork fabrication and 350t ballast unit.
2 Develop the design of next generation tidal turbines and associated technology
  • Value: £1M

QED wishes to develop, design and manufacture the existing Tocardo T2 / T3 turbines and associated technology in the following areas, with reliability and performance forming the basis of design.
3 Design, manufacture and supply electrical infrastructure (cabling)
  • Value: £500K

QED wishes to consider proposals, with the right supply chain partner, to deliver the following areas of work which could be integrated as part of this project and as may be tendered at later date separately. -Manufacture power cabling and controls -Design and implement platform, turbine and environmental control systems -Assembly and integration yards for volume manufacture of different products -Commissioning and full system testing
