Description

Contract for the operation and management of the contracting authority's household recycling centres (HRCs) in Buckinghamshire to include, without limitation, the transportation of residual waste, green waste, bulky waste and wood waste from the HRCs to the contracting authority’s delivery points, the marketing, sale and transportation of recyclable materials and the transportation of other materials to the contractor’s transfer, processing, treatment or disposal sites ("the Contract")

Total Quantity or Scope

The Contract is for the contracting authority's HRC service. The contracting authority currently has 9 HRCs namely: Aylesbury HRC, Rabans Close, Rabans Lane HP19 8RS Amersham HRC, London Road East HP7 9DT Aston Clinton HRC, College Road North HP22 5EZ Buckingham HRC, Yonder Lane, Buckingham Industrial Park MK18 1RZ Beaconsfield HRC, A40 London Road, Lower Pyebush HP9 2XB Burnham HRC, Crowpiece Lane, SL2 3TG Chesham HRC, Latimer Road HP5 1TL High Heavens HRC, High Heavens, Clay Lane, Booker SL7 3DJ Langley HRC, Langley Park Road SL3 6DD The Contract allows for one or more HRC(s) to be removed from and/or added to the list at the contracting authority’s absolute discretion. The services required under the contract will include, without limitation: - operation and management of the HRCs; - maintenance and repair of the HRCs; - receipt of waste (including recyclables) from customers and waste delivered by the contracting authority and/or its contractors and others; - collection of non-household waste charges set by the contracting authority for non-household waste deposited at HRCs; - receipt of some trade waste at Aylesbury HRC, Amersham HRC, Aston Clinton HRC, Beaconsfield HRC and High Heavens HRC; - collection of trade waste charges set by the contracting authority for trade waste deposited at HRCs - responsibility for the segregation, storage and onward transfer of materials for, processing, treatment, re-use, recycling and/ or disposal; - operation of on-site re-use shops; - transportation of residual waste, green waste, bulky waste and wood waste from the HRCs to the contracting authority’s delivery points, the marketing, sale and transportation of recyclable materials and the transportation of other materials to the contractor’s transfer, processing, treatment or disposal sites; - responsibility for the marketing and sale of recyclable materials; - maximising the diversion of waste and recyclables from disposal including landfill - maximising the revenue from the sale of waste and recyclables; - provision of vehicles, equipment, plant and containers – the contracting authority will provide some of these for use in the provision of the services as set out in the procurement documents - repair, maintenance and replacement of vehicles, equipment and containers as set out in the procurement documents.

Renewal Options
