Description

Multiply is a national three-year UK government programme launched in 2022 to help adults improve their numeracy skills and confidence in everyday life, at home, and at work. We are the managing authority for Multiply across Surrey and have been provisionally allocated £1.6m which will be distributed through grant funding to organisations that directly meet the programme's aims or provide learners with the confidence and skills they need to progress onto further study. All applicants must support adults (19+) living or working in Surrey either without a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in maths, or where it can be evidenced that their functional skills are below this level and that participation in Multiply funded provision would benefit them. Projects should be innovative, focus on at least one of the six interventions chosen in Surrey and include delivery to local communities of care leavers and prisoners or those released on license. • Courses designed to increase confidence with numbers for those needing the first steps towards formal numeracy qualifications • Courses designed to help people use numeracy to manage their money. • Courses aimed at people who can't apply for certain jobs because of lack of numeracy skills and/or to encourage people to upskill in numeracy order to access a certain job or career. • New intensive and flexible numeracy courses targeted at people without Level 2 maths, leading to a Functional Skills Qualification. • Courses for parents wanting to increase their numeracy skills to help their children and help with their own progression. • Numeracy activities, courses or provision developed in partnership with community organisations and other partners aimed at engaging the hardest-to-reach learners - for example, those not in the labour market or other groups identified locally as in need. Applicants will also need to demonstrate how they will attract, engage and recruit learners through your own marketing and communication activities. Further guidance and templates for applications included in the 'Request Documents' area of the opportunity.
