Description

To deliver end of life care to people who are nearing the end of life using a combination of registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. End of life timeframe can be difficult to predict so this service continues for as long as is required.

Total Quantity or Scope

To provide planned palliative nursing care covering a single patient per shift in their usual place of residence who are in the end of life stage of their illness whose needs can be met through short episodes of night care. The Provider will provide an agreed combination of Registered Nurses & HealthCare Assistants to deliver care and support for referred patients with terminal illness ("Patients"), which will comprise management of pain and other symptoms and provision of emotional and practical support and personal care as set out in the care plan provided by the Referrer. Care will be delivered in the Patient's home (or other agreed location) on a single patient per shift/visit basis. BHCIC intend to award a contract to an existing provider following Direct Award Process C for three years with a 12 month notice of termination from 1/4/2024 to 31/3 2027. The lifetime value of the contract is £189000.

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulation 2015 do not apply to this award. The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by midnight of 18/4/2024 x (8 working days following publication of award notice). This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR. Marie Curie has been delivering this service at a high level and likely to satisfy the proposed new contract. The new Contract has no significant changes.
