Description

Purchase of Raman Microscope for Research purposes.

Total Quantity or Scope

The University requires to purchase from supplier-Edinburgh Instruments Limited the following peice of optical equipment: Fully automated Raman Microscope supporting up to five internal computer-controlled lasers and additional external lasers, including: 5 position grating turret (appropriate gratings supplied with each laser); Laser Intensity filter wheel adjustable from 0.01% to 100%; Motorised dichroic wheel for up to 6 Raman filters; Computer-controlled adjustable confocal pinhole for full control of spatial resolution and confocality; Multi-position motorised slit; Automated switching between lasers (where multi-laser option selected); Internal colour CMOS camera for viewing sample by white light illumination and laser spot simultaneously; Integrated neon, silicon and white light standards for calibration and validation; Nikon Eclipse LV100 Upright Microscope; LED white light source for Köhler illumination by reflected and transmitted light; Abbe condenser; Brightfield / Darkfield illumination unit; 225 mm spectrograph including: Adjustable motorised slit; 5-position grating turret & Ports for up to 2 detectors. TE-cooled electron multiplying CCD detector for fast mapping applications. 1600x200 array, 16um pixels, back Illuminated with fringe suppression. Cooling down to -80 C. Maximum QE at 550 nm ca. 95%, spectral coverage for 380 nm – 900 nm with QE >40%; Computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse & software; The Raman Microscope can also itegrate with exisiting Marzhauser Sample Scanning Slide Express 2 equipment. Following market research carried out by the academic research team, there are no other suppliers available in the market to supply this type of equipment in the form factor required. The principal purpose of the contract is to acquire goods in connection with research undertaken by the University.
