Description

Centre of Expertise for the deployment of Technical Expertise to partners in the field of Trade policy and advice

Total Quantity or Scope

The new UK Trade Centre of Expertise (CoE) is being established by the FCDO Trade for Development team. The CoE will act as a central programme that supports HMG-wide Aid for Trade efforts to drive inclusive, pro-poor trade in developing countries. The Trade COE aims to increase trade from and between developing countries in order to drive export-led growth which reduces poverty and increases people’s resilience to climate change. It will provide technical assistance to governments and businesses in developing countries and in multilateral fora to enable them to overcome the barriers to trade, to compete in global markets and to make the global trade rules work for developing countries. It will provide world-class expertise on trade to Posts that is responsive, flexible and value for money and is accompanied by a separate Trade COE Evidence and Innovation programme. A combination of Accountable Grants, MOU's and Commercial Contracts are envisaged to deliver the CoE as a whole, split into different components.

Other Information

This notice is to inform potentially interested parties of an Early Market Engagement event taking place on 3rd July at 10:00, which is primarily an information-sharing session on the new Trade Centre of Expertise (CoE). An overview will be given of CoE's, the Trade one in particular and its likely different components - some of which will most likely be Accountable Grants, some MOU's, and some Commercial Contracts. The intention of the session is to share this initial information, which is at Business Case-approval stage, and gather insights from the market on potential delivery models, routes to market, and interested parties in each component.
