Total Quantity or Scope

The Ophthalmology Directorate received approval for insourcing support to address ongoing pressures within the Glaucoma service. The previous insourcing support was very successful, and the waiting numbers and times reduced significantly. Glaucoma is a sight threatening condition that requires timely intervention. This insourcing service provides additional reporting and face to face review sessions that would significantly reduce the current backlog, ensuring all patients are clinically reviewed and significantly reducing the current clinical risk. The service will help clear backlogs, it is envisaged that the activity generated by the service will provide the resilience required to support the service going forwards.
