Total Quantity or Scope

Routine service & repair of BK Ultrasound equipment and located within the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. Routine service & repair to be provided strictly in accordance with manufacturer's recommended maintenance and calibration procedures, using OEM parts, where necessary.

Legal Justification

Given the above mentioned "sole provider" status from Uniphar Medtech t/a Tekno Surgical of the equipment covered by the proposed contract, Belfast Health & Social Care Trust is confident that Uniphar Medtech t/a Tekno Surgical is sole-provider for maintenance of the equipment covered by this notice. Consequently, BHSCT proposes use of Regulation 32 (Use of the Negotiated Procedure without Prior Publication).

** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** Uniphar Medtech t/a Tekno Surgical is the "sole-provider" for the provision of maintenance of the equipment covered by this DAC. Further, this service is required from this supplier to facilitate completion of the award of regional contracts for maintenance of diagnostic imaging equipment. PaLS SMC Team advised by email of 21/06/2024 that "we are presently in the renewal process of the above contract with NHS Supply Chain. We have encountered some delays to this process, and thus the proposed renewal date of 1st September is no longer achievable. The duration of this contract will be for 6 months (01/09/2024 - 28/02/2025), in order to facilitate completion of the regional tender. A facility for a further 6 months' extension i.e. a maximum contract duration of 1 year (01/09/2024 - 31/08/2025), in the event of regional non-award. The contract would be terminated in the event of a regional or BHSCT award. The maximum value of the initial 6 month period has been estimated as £30,000. The maximum value of the potential 6 month extension period has been estimated as £30,000 (calculated based on the total estimated value for the initial 6 month period, with an allowance in case of increased prices).
