Description

Overnight Rapid Response End of Life Care Nursing Service for North East London Integrated Care Board.

Total Quantity or Scope

The end of life nursing service provides overnight rapid specialist palliative nursing and care support to patients at home. The service delivers improved quality of life experienced by end of life patients and increases the number of people supported to have a good death through advice, management of pain and other symptoms and provision of emotional and practical support. Development of the service model and specification has been informed by national best practice as set out in the National Ambitions for Palliative and End of Life Care (2021-26), NHS Statutory Guidance on End of Life Services (July 2022), the Department of Health's National End of Life Care Strategy, and NICE Quality Standards for End of Life Care in Adults (2021). The current provider of the Service is meeting the contractual requirements to a satisfactory level and the intention is to award the providers the contract for the period 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025, following PSR Direct Award Process C as there is no change to the contract terms. The lifetime value of the contract is £266,512.
