Description

The University of Birmingham wishes to enter into a contract for the service and maintenance of an FEI TALOS F200 STEM and a HELIOS G4 CXe P-FIB that will ensure that the relevant equipment is maintained and repaired to the highest quality standards. Accordingly the employer is seeking competitive tenders from suitably qualified contractors in response to this Invitation to Tender with a view to awarding a contract to a single contractor for the service and maintenance of a range of small/medium size vapour compression chillers. The price for the provision of the services shall be as set out in a specific pricing schedule in the format set out in schedule 1 and this pricing schedule will form part of the contract between the parties. The overriding purpose and objective of the contract is that the successful contractor will work with the college to maintain the highest possible standards of reliability by operating an effective service, maintenance inspection and repair service.

Total Quantity or Scope

This procurement is not a full OJEU tender and is published to meet the requirements of ESIF funding. The University of Birmingham wishes to enter into a contract for the service and maintenance of an FEI TALOS F200 STEM and a HELIOS G4 CXe P-FIB that will ensure that the relevant equipment is maintained and repaired to the highest quality standards. Accordingly the employer is seeking competitive tenders from suitably qualified contractors in response to this Invitation to Tender with a view to awarding a contract to a single contractor for the service and maintenance of the FEI TALOS F200 STEM and a HELIOS G4 CXe P-FIB. … The overriding purpose and objective of the contract is that the successful contractor will work with the College to maintain the highest possible standards of reliability by operating an effective service, maintenance inspection and repair service, with contractually binding performance levels in order to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. Equipment to be serviced and maintained The contractor will ensure that the following equipment is maintained in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Listed equipment Location equipment manufacturer model serial number age (approx) Metallurgy and materials building scanning transmission electron microscope FEI Talos F200 6 years Metallurgy and materials building plasma focused ion beam microscope FEI Helios CXe P-FIB 2 years. The contractor is requested to list any items which are not covered in the service contract for both the Talos STEM microscope system, and similarly on the P-FIB. The contractor is requested to provide the comprehensive coverage in service and maintenance. The contract is also requested to state, the costs for service and maintenance contract for the first instance up to 28 February 2023, and then the 12-monthly costs afterwards.
