The Northern Ireland Regional Molecular Diagnostic Service (NIRMDS) provides cytogenetic and molecular genetic testing for germ line and somatic disorders. Cytogenetic services are provided for prenatal, postnatal, solid tissue and haemato-oncology. Germline molecular genetics services for diagnostic and predictive testing for a wide range of genetic conditions including hereditary cancers, blood disorders, cardiac and lipid disorders. Somatic molecular services are carried out on a range of cancers including breast, colorectal, gynaecological, melanoma, sarcoma and blood (list not exhaustive). Molecular diagnostic testing takes place throughout a person’s lifetime from preimplantation genetic diagnosis, prenatal screening/testing, new born screening as well as testing for adult onset conditions and the technologies and methodologies are constantly evolving with new improved instrumentation and testing pathways continuously being made available.. . Business Services Organisation (BSO) Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS), on behalf of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT), is establishing a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the procurement of molecular diagnostic equipment, reagents, consumables and other associated products for delivery of a modern molecular diagnostic service providing molecular and cytogenetic testing for rare genetic disorders/syndromes, hereditary cancers, somatic cancers and germline haematological disorders (list not exhaustive). All interested Economic Operators must register and apply to join the DPS via the eTendersNI portal.. The estimated total value stated in II 2.6 includes the initial 5 year contract period and the option to. extend the contract for any further period. In section 1.2 it is stated that this procurement is a joint procedure and contract award is by a Central Purchasing Body. This contract is not a joint contract, it is a Central Purchasing Body Contract operated by BSO PaLS on behalf of the participants listed in section 1.1.
