2. II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
Urgent Treatment Centre for Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - Denmark Hill KCH is a large tertiary hospital and Foundation Trust providing services to south east London and Kent population of over 4 million people. We work across five hospital sites delivering local and specialist clinical services (this tender only applies to the Denmark Hill site). KCH Denmark Hill is the Major Trauma Centre for SE London, Kent and Medway supported by our Helipad, a Cardiac Arrest Centre, Arrhythmia Centre and a Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit. Our Paediatric Emergency Department has also undergone a recent renovation and is supported by a paediatric CDU. KCH is keen to develop an Urgent Treatment Centre provision that includes: • 24/7 front door streaming for all walk-in patients • 24/7 ENP and GP cover • Delivery of Type 3 performance against the emergency care standard (consistently achieving in excess of 95%) or compliance with new NHSE/I standards currently out for consultation • Working with primary care provision including NHS111 throughout SE London in order to compliment and improve same-day urgent care access as described in NHSE/I standards KCH will conduct a virtual market engagement event with all interested parties being invited. The bidding teams will present their proposed model for the UTC provision. Attendance to this event will be limited, and those who express an interest and have a proven track record of being able to deliver the above service will be given priority. If KCH wishes to proceed to tender stage all documentation from this event shall also be circulated within the tender documents. Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and KIFM will shortlist suppliers (maximum** upto 5) from those suppliers who express interest. These suppliers will be issued the tender document. This is a restricted tender procedure under Light Touch Regime. **In the event of a tie break where for example we have stated that a maximum of 5 companies shall be shortlisted to tender, we will take through the highest 5 scores which may mean taking through more than 5 companies, if multiple companies have scored the same. The contract will be for 3 years, with the option to extend the contract by a further two extensions of 12 months each.
