Heathlands Care Home will consist of a Dementia Nursing Care Home and an Intermediate Care Service. It is Bracknell Forest Council’s intention to publish the tender for the Dementia Nursing Care Home shortly. In addition, Bracknell Forest will seek a provider who, as well as delivering the Dementia Nursing Service, will provide excellent hotel and facilities management services across both services, value an open and collaborative, partnership approach and deliver safe, high quality, value for money and person-centred services.
Total Quantity or Scope
Bracknell Forest Council intends to procure a Dementia Nursing Service which includes people with Dementia who present with complexities and challenging behaviour. Heathlands Care Home will provide 66 single rooms over 3 floors in a modern, purpose-built setting. The care home is scheduled to open at the end of 2021 following completion of its construction. The top floor (second floor) will house the Intermediate Care Service delivered by a healthcare trust. The ground floor and first floor will contain 46 dementia nursing beds. A hotel and facilities management service will be provided by the Dementia Nursing Provider to all 66 beds. The Dementia Nursing Contract will be for an initial 5-year period with two further extensions consisting of 3 years and 2 years respectively. Bracknell Forest Council, East Berkshire Clinical Commissioning Group, and carers and people with dementia have worked in collaboration to develop a dementia nursing service which will meet local residents needs and look forward to working with the tender winner as a key partner in delivering high quality support for our residents.
