Description

This Contract is for the Provision of Legionella Management Services to Queen’s to ensure the University is not at risk.The scope of this Contract does not cover Legionella Risk Assessments. Queen’s will provide Legionella Risk Assessments for each building to the provider of Legionella Management Services. The Economic Operator must plan their monthly/quarterly/annual tasks in line with the recommendations from the Legionella Risk Assessments and as agreed with the Contract Manager.The Economic Operator will be required to carry out the following:• Planned Monitoring Tasks • Fixed Price Items (which may be instructed if required)• Reactive Callouts/ Repairs / Dayworks The Contract covers approximately 270 buildings and the Economic Operator is to provide services including suitable legionella monthly asset monitoring, tank and system disinfection, clean and descaling various types of outlets, water sampling, training and management services.

Total Quantity or Scope

The Contractor must plan their monthly/quarterly/annual tasks in line with the recommendations from the Legionella Risk Assessments and as agreed with the Contract Manager.The Contractor will be required to carry out the following:• Planned Monitoring Tasks • Fixed Price Items (which may be instructed if required)• Reactive Callouts/ Repairs / Dayworks The Contract covers approximately 270 buildings and the Contractor is to provide services including suitable legionella monthly asset monitoring, tank and system disinfection, clean and descaling various types of outlets, water sampling, training and management services. There are a currently 8320 assets to be monitored across Queen’s – spread between monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual tasks. This is subject to change and review as the Queen’s Estate evolves.The Contractor must ensure the University’s compliance with the Approved Code of Practice L8: Legionnaires’ Disease – The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems and the relevant sections of HSG274 guidance. The majority of Queen’s buildings are located in the main campus area of South Belfast, but the Estate also includes major buildings at the Upper Malone Playing Fields, Royal Victoria Hospital site in West Belfast, Belfast City Hospital, Portaferry and a few other outlying locations.

Renewal Options

Option to extend by up to a further 24 months.
