Description
Dual output laser combining a fixed wavelength beam to act as a Stokes beam; and a tunable laser beam that covers the biological Raman spectrum range.
Total Quantity or Scope
A dual-output packaged laser solution that operates as a ‘turn key’ system. This would combine a fixed wavelength beam to act as a Stokes beam, and a tunable laser beam that covers the biological Raman spectrum range when combined with the Stokes beam, all housed in one box requiring little specialist knowledge to run, as well as offering a small footprint and help with health and safety requirements. This will form part of a multimodal imaging platform which is designed to complement our work on Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) microscopy.

Legal Justification
Although a number of manufacturers produce dual output lasers for biological use that cover many of the requirements, they are femtosecond lasers. The spectral bandwidth on these laser pulses are typically around 100 cm-1 making them ideal for fluorescence and harmonic imaging but unsuitable for SRS imaging of narrow Raman bands that we require.
