Description
Overweight and obesity presents a major challenge to the current and future health of the local population. Higher Body Mass Index (BMI) is associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality from a range of conditions and contributes to increased health and social care costs. Tackling the obesity rates in Northamptonshire and providing weight management support is a key element of Northamptonshire Public Health’s efforts to improve health and wellbeing in the adult population as cited in the 2020 Northampton Health, Care and Wellbeing Plan.
