Legal Justification
The award of a 12 month contract commencing 1st April 2021 on terms substantially similar to the existing contract for the provision of a delivery point for recyclable materials which have been collected by the Council from households within the borough using the Council's refuse collection vehicles. The award is strictly necessary in circumstances where the time limits for the open or restricted procedure cannot be complied with. The liquidation of the contractor contracted to deliver the materials recycling facility including delivery point from 1st April 2021 leaves insufficient time for the open or restricted procedure to be followed and the liquidation was unforeseeable and causes extreme urgency in relation to the award of the contract.
Other Information
The contract value is based on estimated projected tonnages for the 12 month period April 2021 - April 2022. These tonnages are not qualified or guaranteed.
