Description
NPL has been awarded funding to develop an online hydrogen quality sensor. In an already completed first phase of the project NPL demonstrated two new sensor technologies sensitive to ppm of relevant impurities in hydrogen. In the second phase (due to start 1st April 2021 and end 31st March 2022) NPL and sub-contractors will further develop these sensors, incorporate them into two prototype devices, demonstrate the prototypes at two hydrogen refuelling stations (owned by other partners in the project) and plan for their commercialisation. NPL has the knowledge to further develop the sensors and build a lab prototype, the partners have hydrogen refuelling stations and are able to advise on safety requirements and carry out testing. NPL are seeking a partner to develop the field prototypes and assist with plans for future commercialisation.
Total Quantity or Scope
NPL are developing an online hydrogen quality sensor and are seeking a sub-contractor with experience in the production of gas analysis instruments or similar to support the development of prototypes and subsequent commercialisation.
