Description

Birmingham Public Health Division are looking to commission qualitative and quantitative research with one provider who will work with a number of representative third-sector organisations with established groups within the Birmingham community to produce a final report in which findings and recommendations will be fed back to Birmingham City Council (the Council). The final report will also contain a mini needs assessment which will provide a statistical analysis of the Birmingham Position. This information will provide Birmingham City Council with the key information required to ensure effective, targeted and necessary public health interventions are in place for BBV's and TB. It is an expectation that the provider will commission (sub-contract) third sector organisations to conduct community engagement exercises, including focus groups to: o identify the needs of the Birmingham population as it pertains to HIV, Hep B, Hep C and TB; o Consider the needs of people pre-exposure, once infected but not diagnosed, once diagnosed and in treatment, and consider the wider needs of those they have close personal relationships with help us understand current testing and treatment pathways; o identify which areas and demographics in the city are at a higher risk of exposure and in higher need whilst also understanding the varying needs of these groups o Understand additional prevention activity required for all citizens to enable the delivery of the Fast-Track Cities vision by 2030 o understand the interconnections in services and support between Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull for people living with, and affected by HIV, Hepatitis and TB The types of groups this would cover (please note this list is not extensive), would be: o Young People aged 13 to 25 o Women of reproductive age o BAME Communities (particularly individuals from African, Caribbean and South Asian ethnic backgrounds) o Older People aged 60+ o LGBT Communities o Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) o People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) o Sex workers (both male and female) o Homeless people, including rough sleepers and those living in temporary accommodation o Refugees and asylum seekers Other focus groups will also be required for the following specific citizens. This will include individuals diagnosed with; o HIV o Viral Hepatitis o Tuberculosis o Dual Diagnosis This contract will be for a period of 8 weeks commencing 8th March 2021 until 25th April 2021.
