This is a voluntary ex ante transparency notice (VEAT). This notice is to indicate that the Heriot-Watt University intends to contract with PAL Robotics S.L. for the provision of TIAGo++ and ARI robotic equipment. These peices of robotic equipment have very significant budgetary and time restraints which only one identified provider can provide.

Total Quantity or Scope

Heriot-Watt University intends to contract with PAL Robotics S.L. for the supply and delivery of 2no. TIAGo++ and ARI robots. The principal purpose of the contract is to acquire goods in connection with HRI research undertaken by the University.

Legal Justification

A scoping exercise was conducted by end user within the University`s School of Mathematics & Computer Sciences with findings drawn that only TIAGo++ and ARI robots from PAL Robotics can meet all of the specification of requirements to enable HRI research to be conducted.

Please Note: An Award has not been made for this requirement. The date included at V.2.1 of this notice refers to the date for the publication of this Voluntary Ex Ante Transparency Notice only. Heriot-Watt University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to suppliers by means of this VEAT notice.
