Description

This contract is for the provision of generator maintenance services to Queen’s University Belfast, included planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, repairs and callouts to ensure the University’s business is not at risk and has available and continuous back up in the event of power failure. Queen’s currently has 22 stand-by generators across the campus. 16 cover entire buildings and a further 6 cover fire fighting lifts. Each generator must be serviced twice a year (one major and one minor service). A 24-hour callout service for emergency repair or breakdown is required, which must be responded to within 4 hours of fault notification.

Total Quantity or Scope

This contract is for the provision of generator maintenance services to Queen’s University Belfast, included planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, repairs and call outs to ensure the University’s business is not at risk and has available and continuous back up in the event of power failure. Queen’s is seeking to appoint a contractor that will show a willingness to share best practice and have a proactive approach to continuous improvement of the service over the period of the contract. Queen’s currently has 22 stand-by generators across the campus. 16 cover entire buildings and a further 6 cover firefighting lifts. Each generator must be serviced twice a year The expected schedule for planned preventative maintenance is as follows (though this is subject to change): • Service Period 1: December — January • Service Period 2: July — August. A 24-hour callout service for emergency repair or breakdown is also required. All call outs must be responded to within 4 hours of fault notification to ascertain initially that the generator will still start.
