Description

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has been awarded funding by the Department of Education (DfE) to co-ordinate a local Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF). The programme will deliver free activities and healthy food for school aged children and young people (4-16 years) eligible for and in receipt of benefit related Free School Meals (FSM) during Summer and Christmas school holidays. The overarching outcomes of the provision and those that the DfE are hoping will be achieved through the HAF programme, are that children and young people will: • Eat more healthily over the school holidays; • Be more active during the school holidays; • Take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, characters and wellbeing along with their wider education attainment; • Be safe and not to be socially isolated; • Have a great knowledge of health nutrition; and • Be more engaged with school and other local services. To achieve these outcomes, we are looking to award part of the funding to suitable holiday provision providers. These providers will need to meet the delivery requirements of the DfE in the areas of food, activities, physical activity, nutrition education, SEND provision, signposting and referrals, as laid out in the specification document. Therefore, the Royal Borough is inviting tenders for provision of high quality holiday programmes for children and young people (CYP) eligible for free school meals aged 4 - 16 years.
