Description

The proposed fibre hub connectivity in rural Dorset (FHCiRD) aims to deliver an improvement to both the broadband coverage and build infrastructure that will facilitate longer term improvements and reduce the commercial cost of mobile deployments, including the latest 5G standards.

Total Quantity or Scope

Delivery of gigabit capable connectivity to agreed sites by 31 March 2022. Dorset Council has made available a proportion of the funding which will enable a small number of sites to be delivered by 30 June 2022. It is a condition of the procurement process that the provider of fibre connectivity for ‘hub’ sites facilitate fair and equitable wholesale access to fibre installed as part of the hub connectivity scheme. This award is for 63 sites within the Blandford to Sherborne area as outlined within the ITT.
