Total Quantity or Scope
The Council is appointing one organisation to be the Operator for the Kirkleatham Walled Garden facility which includes catering academy, horticultural gardens which are to be open to the public, an events facility including a large marquee and a café/restaurant. All detail is available within the procurement documentation available via www.nepo.org This is a concession contract with an initial duration of 5 years plus an optional 5 year extension available.

Other Information
This opportunity is partly funded by Tees Valley Combined Authority. This is a concession contract with the operator being exposed to the vagaries of the market over the 10 year contract term. Due to current Covid pandemic the Council has agreed to pay some elements of direct costs of approximately GBP 200 000 for Year 1. This contract involves the service category of Hotel and Restaurant services under Schedule 3 of the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016 and is therefore subject to the Light Touch procurement regime set out at Chapter 3 of the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016. This Concession Contract is not subject to the full application of the Concession Contracts Regulations 2015.
