SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND1.1 NHS London Procurement Partnership (“NHS LPP”) is issuing this Invitation to Tender ("ITT") in connection with the competitive procurement of a Framework Agreement for X-Ray Contrast and Scan Media to the successful Tenderer(s) (“Supplier(s)”). This document contains important information about the procurement process and the Framework Agreement that NHS LPP intends to award. This ITT Section A contains further information about the procurement process.1.2 NHS LPP contracts as Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust who are the host for the NHS LPP (“Host Trust”). All references in this ITT will be as to NHS LPP. Should the Host Trust situation change, any Framework Agreement resulting from this procurement process will be novated to the new host Trust.1.3 NHS LPP is the overarching programme structure that supports procurement across London and outside of London on behalf of member trusts (as may change from time to time). NHS LPP facilitates and supports procurement and contract management of London wide contracts. NHS LPP will be mentioned in this document where appropriate.1.4 NHS LPP is setting up a Framework Agreement for X-Ray Contrast and Scan Media. This will be a multi-Supplier unranked Framework Agreement.1.5 The aim of the Framework Agreement will be to enable Participating Authorities to enjoy a choice of X-Ray Contrast and Scan Media at affordable pricing. The Framework Agreement will operate for an initial term of 2 years with an option to extend for a further x2 12 months.1.6 Estimated value of the Framework Agreement: £26 Million1.7 Information about lots: Tenders may be submitted for one or all lots: Lot 1 – Non-ionic contrast media Lot 2 – Gadolinium contrast mediaLot 3 – Ionic contrast mediaLot 4 - Specialist contrast media1.8 The Framework Agreement will be open to use by any and all organisations ("Participating Authority/Participating Authorities") throughout England, who will have the option to access the products and/or services via either direct award or through further competition.
