Description

Defra wishes to let a Framework agreement for the provision of Research, Development & Evidence Services. Research and Experimental Development (R&D) comprises creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications. Evidence covers a range of sciences including economics, social research, operational research, statistics, natural science, engineering and geography. To take account of the wide variety of subject matter handled by Defra, we have created two Framework Agreements, Framework 1 and Framework 2. Framework 1 is currently being competed. Framework 2 is split into 4 subject specific Lots and further divided into sub-lots as follows: Lot 5 Flood & Water Sub lot 5.1 Evidence reviews for water quality, water resources & flood and coastal erosion risk management Sub lot 5.2 R&D for water quality, water resources and coastal erosion risk management Lot 6 Marine & Fisheries Sub lot 6.1 – Clean & Safe Seas Sub lot 6.2 – Healthy & biologically diverse seas Sub lot 6.3 – Productive seas & freshwater systems Sub lot 6.4 – Ocean climate science & international engagement Sub lot 6.5 – Society & the sea Lot 7 Resource & Waste Sub lot 7.1 – Waste & waste management Sub lot 7.2 – Material resource efficiency & sustainable consumption Lot 8 Animal & Plant Health Sub lot 8.1 - Plant Health Natural Sciences Research & Evidence Sub lot 8.2 - Animal Welfare Research & Evidence
