Description

A contract is required for asbestos surveying to domestic properties and asbestos air monitoring, sampling and surveying to non-domestic properties to Council owned properties throughout the North Lanarkshire Council area.

Lot Division

1 Asbestos Surveying to Domestic Properties

The scope of the requirement includes, but is not limited to: Management Survey to single dwelling, include for all sampling, analysis and reporting. Management Survey with Targeted Refurbishment Survey to specified areas within single dwelling, include for all sampling, analysis and reporting. Refurbishment Survey to single dwelling, include for all sampling, analysis and reporting. Common Area Surveys: Management surveys/ Annual re inspection surveys within NLC towers, sheltered and low rise properties where required. The contractor can expect that when working within these properties they will be occupied by tenants and in some instances vulnerable tenants.

2 Asbestos Air Monitoring, Sampling and Surveying to Non-Domestic Properties

The scope of the requirement includes, but is not limited to: Standard and priority air monitoring and sampling on site at various council properties, in conjunction with the council’s asbestos removal contractor and under the supervision of the Council’s Asbestos Control Officer. All in accordance with the priority timescales, in particular, responding to a works order for emergency work within a maximum of two hours including liaising with the Council’s asbestos removal contractor to arrange access to the site. The laboratory testing of bulk samples taken or supplied by the Council to the Contractor’s location. Samples to be turned round in accordance with the timescales laid down in the document. Asbestos location survey work at various council properties including liaising with Property Managers to arrange access to site. The execution of detailed asbestos/artex surveys and taking samples for laboratory testing under the supervision of the Council’s Asbestos Control Officer. All in accordance with the timescales laid down in this document. Laboratory testing of all samples and the preparation of an electronically recorded analysis report. Samples to be turned round in accordance with the timescales laid down in the document. The contractor should be aware that properties may be occupied by Council employees or members of the public when services are being undertaken.
