Description
Orchard Hill College Academy Trust (OHCAT), have decided to tender their catering services for seven of their Academies to investigate the financial and qualitative benefits that they could be offered.
Total Quantity or Scope
The Schools involved are: - Brantridge School Unified Academy Addington Valley Academy Dysart School Young People's Academy The Skills Hub Grafham Grange School Aims of the Service. Orchard Hill College Academy Trust wish to be at the forefront of School catering and as such require a modern, branded offer that reflects the leading trends in the industry. Currently, the Trust's wish is to commence a catering contract, with a partner or partners who share their vision for a customer-focused service that attracts the maximum number of students. The meals that are to be provided must be appealing to customers, meet the needs of the pupils, imaginative, provide good value for money and be nutritionally balanced to encourage all students to make an educated choice. The Trust's objectives for the new contract are as follows: - • A catering service that is well managed and requires minimal involvement from the Trust's management team. • Ensure that the services can be effectively managed locally with central oversight and support. • To provide a service across the Schools that reflects the same standards in all of the establishments. • Compliment and support the future development of the Trust on each site. • A dedicated strong Contract Area Manager who will develop and lead the team to deliver a customer service focused offer and spend a substantial amount of time on site at the outset to undertake this. The Trust see this role as being fulfilled with a person with a culinary background. • A Contractor who is proactive in their relationship management with the Trust. • Ensuring that standards remain consistently high. Any shortfall will be recognised early through quality monitoring systems and daily visual and audit checks to ensure corrective action is carried out and communicated to all. • The introduction of some measurement tools such as Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and Service Level Agreements (SLA's). • A higher number of students using the facilities by providing a high quality, appetising and nutritious meal. • A catering service that encourages students to eat a heathy and balanced meal. • Food and drinks that look appetising and are attractively presented. • Improve the quality of the services provided so standards remain consistently high. • Provide maximum value-for-money; overheads reduced where possible, especially staffing costs. • A Contractor that adopts a flexible and proactive approach to all Trust activities . • A service that is professionally merchandised and marketed with discretion and to the mutual benefit of the Trust and the Contractor. • A Contractor that operates using the optimum level of staffing, rationalising resources to ensure maximum efficiency.
