Description

Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the University of the Highlands and Islands are proposing to construct a new shared development, the Life Sciences Innovation Centre [LSIC], on plot 15 of the Inverness Campus. The current proposals equate to circa 2,450 m2 with UHI acquiring circa 1,100m2, HIE acquiring circa 1,000m2 and a central shared facility of circa 350m2. Associated parking provision, service areas and external storage facilities are provided. It is expected that the NEC4 ECC Option A contract will be awarded in March 2021 with a completion date of no later than June 2022. HIE is conducting this procurement on behalf of itself and UHI. HIE will act as Employer for the purposes of the contract, acting on behalf of itself and UHI in respect of its implementation and delivery.

Total Quantity or Scope

This contract will be awarded as a design and build (D&B) with the requirement that the contractor appoints their own design team to complete any post contract design necessary to enable the development to proceed. They will be responsible for the management of their designers and all sub-contractors to ensure that the project is delivered on time and to budget. A Project Bank Account (PBA) will be used for payment of the Contractor and their supply chain. Additional information: Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in Regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
