Description

Niox Vero devices and consumables to measure adherence to inhaled steriods used to treat asthma.

Total Quantity or Scope

Under Regulation 33 (1) (b) (ii) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, a contracting authority may use the negotiated procedure without the prior publication in the case of a public contract, based on the following justification: A contracting authority may award a public contract following negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice or prior information notice in any of the following cases— (b) where the works, supplies or services can be supplied only by a particular economic operator for any of the following reasons— (ii) competition is absent for technical reasons; Explanation The equipment is required for a follow on study on asthma attacks over 12 months. The results of this study must be comparable with the original study which used the same equipment. The equipment incorporates a shorter test setting for younger children. The Niox products are protected by a number of patents in the US, Europe and a range of other countries.
