Description

STAR procurement on behalf of Rochdale Council and Salford Council ("the Councils") are looking to appoint an Owners Engineer to provide project management resource and to oversee and advise on all technical and regulatory aspects of the building and commissioning of the proposed solar farms at Chamber House (Rochdale) and Little Hulton (Salford), which have estimated budgets of £4,700,000 (four million seven hundred thousand pounds sterling) excluding VAT and £2,200,000 (two million two hundred thousand pounds) excluding VAT respectively and for which planning permission has been granted. Details of the projects accompany this procurement. It is anticipated, but the Service Provider shall confirm, that this work will take place in three broad phases: 1. Procurement of contractors - supporting the Council to appoint the necessary supplier(s) to deliver the project, 2. Construction - providing project management support and technical oversight of delivery contractor(s), and 3. Handover - support for Council acceptance of the completed project. Chamber House Solar Farm and Little Hulton Solar Farm are part of a wider programme of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) supported renewable energy projects across Greater Manchester which are due to be delivered between 2021 and 2023.
