Description

The Rother Walk was created by the South Downs National Park Authority and National Trust in 2011 to link Midhurst with National Trust's Woolbeding parkland. This route is heavily used by local residents and dog walkers. It replaces the old section of the Lipchis Way, running past Midhurst Academy, Midhurst Rother College, which was closed due to security reasons. The path is not accessible for less able people to enjoy and may deter these users and people with buggies from using the path. It is not used as a picnicking spot and the river cannot be seen in many places along the path. This lowers the enjoyment and tranquillity of the overall experience. It is the aim of this project to provide a suitable surface for the first 300m of the path, together with picnic benches so that this tranquil spot can be enjoyed by all.
