Description

Since 2017 Solihull Council has been successful with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) applications to undertake a wide range of habitat and nature improvement projects. This funding has delivered improved conservation status for habitat across publicly accessible green space within the urban areas of Solihull Borough. Solihull MBC propose environmental improvements in Tudor Grange Park to the large pond and associated watercourses currently in poor ecological condition. The focus of the project is to deliver improved habitat and water quality within the pond and brook which will enhance its wildlife potential. We are inviting consultants to: provide the necessary surveys including water quality testing, silt analysis and topographic surveys; and to provide a feasibility study and outline design of enhancement options. It is expected that the targeted main works will involve silt removal from the pond and the works contract would be carried out during 2022. The works are also expected to include re-naturalisation of the main feeder stream (Alderbrook) which feeds into the pond from west and leaves the pond southward and exits via a culvert in the park, and ecological enhancement of the area where surface water feeds into the pond from the north east side. The watercourse improvements would be expected to include: concrete slab removal and naturalisation of the channel; re-profiling of brook banks; management of bankside trees and shrubs; and planting of native species.

Since February 2010, Coventry; Solihull; Warwickshire; Nuneaton and Bedworth; Rugby alongside other local district Councils have been working together as a shared procurement service. In conjunction with Solihull Community Housing, we have joined together to bring you a collaborative E-Tendering portal. This means that there is a single point of contact for procurement in the sub-region so you only have to register once to receive notifications for all authorities. Registering on the portal will make it easier for local suppliers to find, respond to and be alerted to tender opportunities. Registration is free, and takes just a few minutes. When complete, you will be able to express interest in any of the Councils'/Authorities' opportunities when they are made available including this tender. In addition, we will be able to access your details whenever we have a requirement, and you may then be invited to tender or quote for work.
