Description

Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking a provider to deliver the following services: Emotional wellbeing support for trans children and young people, and Sexual health promotion for young gay and bisexual men within the city of Brighton and Hove.

Total Quantity or Scope

We are looking for approximately ten hours per week youth support work to deliver: • Group support programmes for Trans identified children and young people and their parents and carers. • One to one support for trans identified children and young people. • Volunteer development opportunities for trans young people. We also require the provider to develop and deliver an HIV prevention and sexual health promotion programme for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people with a particular focus on young gay and bisexual men. The programme will include: • Digital and online information and resources • Development and delivery of peer designed sexual health promotion resources • Peer led outreach in schools, colleges and universities and other youth settings • Campaigns • Resource provision including condoms and lube and guidance on how to use them • One to one support • Drop-in sessions and workshops • Development of effective partnership working Due to timing and sensitivity of the services being provided, the Council requests that only organisations which have a real and present chance of fulfilling the specification submit expressions of interest in response to this request. In your response to this call for competition please ensure that you demonstrate the following: • Suitable premises are secured and available • Extensive experience of working positively and effectively with lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans identified young people. • An appropriately trained and accredited workforce • Excellent understanding of sexual health and the wider determinants of health • Staff team skilled in the delivery of sexual health promotion • Staff skilled in the delivery of one to one emotional wellbeing support for children and young people • Staff with extensive experience in the development and delivery of group work with children and young people • Expertise in the development and delivery of digital and online information and resources
