Description
NPL wishes to procure an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) for the measurement of isotope ratios in greenhouse gases.
Total Quantity or Scope
NPL’s Gas Metrology Group and Emissions & Atmospheric Metrology Group wish to procure an isotope-ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) instrument for the high-precision measurement of isotope ratios for carbon dioxide and methane. The precision required for measurements is 0.01‰ for δ13C-CO2, 0.05‰ for δ18O-CO2, 0.02‰ for δ13C-CH4 and 1‰ for δ2H-CH4. Additionally the instrument must be able to remove scattered ions for high-precision measurements of minor isotopes.
