Description
The 2 Contracts are for the manufacture, testing, inspection and delivery of Hybrid 2 63 Can Racks to Sellafield Ltd. Hybrid 2 63 Can Racks are a high integrity, precision engineered, stainless steel, nuclear spent fuel containment system which will store spent fuel in the Thorp Receipt and Storage (TR&S) facility at Sellafield.
Total Quantity or Scope
In order to support the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), Sellafield Ltd requires Hybrid 2 63 Can Racks (“Racks”) to store spent fuel. As stated within II.1.4 (Short Description) 2 contracts have been awarded for the manufacture, testing, inspection and delivery of Hybrid 2 63 Can Racks to Sellafield Ltd. The Hybrid 2 63 Can Racks are a high integrity, precision engineered, stainless steel, nuclear spent fuel containment system which need to be manufactured in accordance with the design specification set by Sellafield Ltd. The design specification for the Rack is suitable for repeat, production manufacture. Each of the two contracts awarded has an initial commitment for the supply of 80 racks to Sellafield Ltd (equalling a total of 160 racks). There are however provisions in the contract to enable an increase to demand across both contracts. The overall scope therefore has the potential to result in the delivery of up to 240 racks across the 2 contracts. For the purpose of calculating the anticipated Total Value of Contracts (in section I1.1.7) an assumption has been made that the optional 80 Racks (above the initial commitment) will be awarded on the basis of a 50/50 split between the two suppliers; however, Sellafield has the discretion either not to award the additional 80 Racks or to award on a different basis than 50/50. All Contract Values within this Contract Award Notice are also un-escalated figures. Consequently the out-turn contract value will be subject to multiple factors.
