Description

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England & NHS Improvement – Midlands and NHS Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (referred to as the Commissioners) wish to inform the market of a future procurement opportunity for Primary Care Medical Services for St Thomas Road Surgery, Derby. NHS England & NHS Improvement – Midlands has delegated their commissioning authority to NHS Derby and Derbyshire CCG and as a result, under delegated functions NHS Derby and Derbyshire CCG will act on behalf of NHS England & NHS Improvement – Midlands. The Commissioners would like to invite potential Bidders to a Market Engagement Webinar taking place on Wednesday 1 December at 10.00am – 11.00am via MS Teams. Please register your interest in attending this webinar by 10.00am on Monday 29 November 2021, by following instructions given in section VI below.

Total Quantity or Scope

The new contract is required to start on 1 October 2022 and the contract is to run for a period of 5 years with the option to extend for up to a further 4 years and 6 months (maximum total contract duration 9 years and 6 months). St Thomas Road Surgery, Derby has a weighted list size of 3,795 and a raw list size of 4,371 as of 1 July 2021. St Thomas Road Surgery provides services to a diverse population in a deprived area of Derby City. The contract to be entered into will be in accordance with the NHS Standard Alternative Provider Medical Services Contract 2021. The provider will be paid at the GMS global sum, national payments, and local enhanced services. The surgery is located at the Lister House Building, 207 St. Thomas Road, Derby DE23 8RJ. The premises lease is due to end on 24 March 2029, the new provider will be expected to enter into a new lease agreement with the landlord and deliver the service from the same premises. St Thomas Road Surgery is 1 of 11 GP Practices that form the Greater Derby Primary Care Network (circa 94k pts). The key objective of this procurement is to commission safe, high quality and value for money Primary Medical Care Services for the local population who will be served by the GP practice in Derby City. Improving patient outcomes will be key for the procurement. The Commissioners will be looking for innovative bids that will increase and improve access to services. The services will need to demonstrate how improvements to health care outcomes are made and reductions to health inequalities for patients living in the locality.
