Description

UK Health Security Agency (UK HSA) requires software and hardware upgrades to the existing Biaera AeroMP control units used in the Research Department, Porton; which support the study around the modes of transmission of virus SARS-CoV-2 infection implications for infection prevention and control Aerosol infection protocols have been developed and established and the Biaera AeroMP control units are critical for controlling the air flows in the Henderson Apparatus. The current AeroMP control units installed at the Porton site are more than eleven years old and both require software and hardware upgrades to maintain and advance our critical capability. The expectation is that this requirement will enhance and extend the life of the two currently owned Biaera AeroMP control units for another 10 years. Whilst these systems will focus work on COVID-19 projects, their use will expand to other projects with respiratory pathogens (e.g. Mycobacterium tuberculosis). The proposed solution must be fully-compatible with established and current in-house control systems (Henderson apparatus, Jun-Air vacuum and air compressor & Biaera software/AeroMP hardware) to enable the expansion of use with existing systems used within the Research Department based at Porton.
