14 month extension to the contract for the provision of forensic service for the Eastern Region Police Forces, procured from the last National Forensic Framework (NNFNG). The scientific disciplines are split into lots: Lot 201 PACE DNA, Lot 202 crime scene DNA, Lot 207 drugs, Lot 211a toxicology-RTA, Lot 211b toxicology casework and Lot 212 casework with some lots having multiple suppliers/split lots.

Indicators
Legal Justification
This contract award represents an extension to the existing contract where no further option to extend is available. The contract award is necessary to enable the Forensic Capability Network (FCN) to continue their work to stabilise the marketplace before new police procurements commence. This work carried out by the FCN is a national project to stimulate a limited market.
Other Information
This notice is to provide the notice of intention to extend the current forensic services framework for a further 14 months with the current suppliers for all six lots.
