Description

The Cornwall College Group is looking to appoint a suitably qualified supplier(s) for its waste and recycling provision over its campus/sites in Devon & Cornwall (6 LOTs) including: Camborne College, Saltash College, St Austell College, Newquay College, Dutchy College Rosewarne, Dutchy College Stoke Climsland, The Eden Project, Falmouth Marine School, Bicton College

1 Waste Contract

i. Zero to Landfill waste collection and disposal serviceAll General Waste collected will be disposed of in strict compliance with the terms and requirements of the Controlled Waste Regulations (2012) and all other legislation relating to the collection and disposal of waste valid from the framework commencement date, or as may be amended or revised during the framework term. The service provider shall only use licensed waste treatment or disposal operators to treat or dispose of the waste collected.All waste to be processed for recycling ensuring maximum recovery of recyclable materials.No waste to go to landfill.ii. Food Waste Recycling collection and disposal serviceThis Service offers Customers the option to segregate their food waste from general waste, prior to it being collected. Food waste will be recycled by the service provider in the most commercially viable way, whether this is by composting, rendering, anaerobic digestion, incineration, or any other environmentally friendly method. However, where food waste is recycled, it will be carried out in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation surrounding this method of recycling.iii. Glass recycling collection and disposal serviceThis Service offers Customers the option to segregate glass from general waste, prior to it being collected. Glass will be recycled by the service provider in the most commercially viable way. However, where glass is recycled, it will be carried out in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation surrounding this method of recycling. 2 Skip waste collection and disposal service

This services offers the college the ability to dispose of bulky items, building waste etcSkip waste to be sorted, with waste separated for recycling where possible in the most commercially viable way in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation.Reports for skip waste to include total weight, and weight of recycled materialSkips to be provided on a call off basisPrice to include 8 cubic yard enclosed skip, 12 cubic yard enclosed skip, 40 cubic yard roro skip. 3 Wood waste collection and disposal service

This Service offers Customers the option to segregate wood waste from general waste, prior to it being collected. Wood waste will include furniture, laminated chipboard and be recycled by the service provider in the most commercially viable way. However, where wood waste is recycled, it will be carried out in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation surrounding this method of recycling.Skips to be provided on a call off basisPrice required for 8 cubic yard enclosed skip and 12 cubic yard enclosed skipReports for skip waste to include total weight, and weight of recycled material. 4 Metal waste collection and disposal service

This Service offers Customers the option to segregate metal waste from general waste, prior to it being collected. Metal waste to be recycled by the service provider in the most commercially viable way. However, where metal waste is recycled, it will be carried out in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation surrounding this method of recycling.Skips to be provided on a call off basisPrice required for 8 cubic yard enclosed skip and 12 cubic yard enclosed skipReports for skip waste to include total weight.The college would expect a small income from segregated metal waste. 5 WEEE waste collection and disposal service

This Service offers Customers the option to segregate waste electrical equipment (WEEE) from general waste, prior to it being collected. WEEE waste be recycled by the service provider in the most commercially viable way. However, where WEEE waste is recycled, it will be carried out in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation surrounding this method of recycling.Call off service to include- 1100 wheelie bin for disposal of small mixed electrical waste (excluding refrigeration equipment)- 8 Cubic yard covered skip for disposal of mixed electrical waste (excluding refrigeration equipment)- 12 Cubic yard covered skip for disposal of mixed electrical waste (excluding refrigeration equipment)- Disposal costs of refrigeration equipment (to include domestic & commercial waste) Additional information: Prior Information Only

6 Battery collection and disposal service

This Service offers Customers the option to segregate batteries (excluding automotive) from general waste, prior to it being collected. Batteries to be recycled by the service provider in the most commercially viable way. However, where batteries are recycled, it will be carried out in strict accordance with all regulation’s and legislation surrounding this method of recycling.Suitable receptacles for the collection of batteries to be provided by the waste provider sufficient to provide adequate collection points around the Cornwall College sites.
